From The Times of Malta:
The fifth edition of Pink magazine’s catwalk show – an established date on the local fashion calendar – was held in Mdina yesterday, bringing together the arts in the elegant ambience of the 17th-century Palazzo de Piro.
A Times of Malta event, the Pink Fashion Show was this season organised in collaboration with Infinitely Xara.
Hosting a fashion show for the first time ever, Palazzo de Piro’s grand rooms were dressed up for the occasion and guests flowed through them to enjoy the latest autumn/winter trends and must-have pieces from top brands as 30 models struck a pose on interior design installations set up along the runway.
It was a feast of the senses for the guests, who experienced a melange of fashion to live piano and melodica music by Kris Spiteri and dance intertwined in the choreography, completed by creative, contemporary design and decor by Loft.
Inspired by its historical surroundings, often the chosen venue for cultural events, the show’s underlying concept was that fashion is art and art is fashion. The two worlds fused together in displayed paintings by artist Saz Mifsud, who sketched the photo shoot that is inspired by the same theme and will feature in the November issue of Pink, out with The Sunday Times of Malta this week.
A simple, clean, balletic look and feel was created by expert Guerlain make-up artists and hairstylists from Screen Team Malta, while the participating brands included Bata, Calvin Klein Jeans, Furla, Guess, Joseph Ribkoff, Liu Jo, River Island and Stradivarius.
For the first time ever, Pink also showcased the work of two Maltese designers, Carla Grima Atelier and Saz Mifsud, whose collections further highlighted the theme of fashion as art.
The Pink Fashion Show was suppoted by Chemimart, Diet Kinnie, Guerlain, Loft, Olympea, Renault, Screen, The Dance Studio and VIP with 88 Rue du Rhone.
