Infinitely Xara & The Malta Jazz Festival

Infinitely Xara offers three superb palaces, The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux, The Xara Lodge and Palazzo De Piro, each one quite unique and exquisite in its own way.

Palazzo De Piro, a hub of culture and activity located at the heart of the medieval city Mdina, exudes a wonderful sense of history, yet artfully combines all contemporary qualities and comforts. Originally a private residence, Palazzo de Piro has now been converted into an exquisite and refined meeting place for all to appreciate and revel in.
Infinitely Xara is proud to be hosting fringe events in collaboration with The Malta Jazz Festival and also Live Jazz Nights every Wednesdays starting on the 4th June 2014 at Palazzo De Piro. Now in its 24th edition, the Malta Jazz Festival is renowned for its high-caliber performances, which over the years have delighted laypersons and jazz aficionados alike.  It has helped raise the profile of jazz locally- keeping its soul alive.

Stepping into spring

It’s seasonal flavours with a twist at de Mondion. Ramona Depares samples the new menu.

Spring has broken, signalling an appetite for fresher flavours, lighter dishes and seasonal ingredients. These are all elements that are reflected in the new menu that has been created by the Chef de Cuisine Kevin Bonello and Sous Chef Clint Grech and the team at de Mondion, at The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux, Mdina.
Regulars at the restaurant – which prides itself on using regional, fresh ingredients as much as possible – will be happy to know that the de Mondion ethos of exquisite food and top-notch service is still a priority. To these, chef has added some interesting twists to the traditional favourites, as restaurant manager Anthony Quechon tells me.

De Mondion- extraordinary dining in the heart of Mdina

Written by Steve Calleja for The Malta Independent

It is always fascinating to walk the streets of Mdina in the evenings. It’s quiet, perhaps a little bit eerie too. Without the noise of cars and with the shadows of the old capital city’s narrow streets, stepping into Mdina gives the shivers whether it is winter or summer.
