Gastronomic Experience on Friday 15th March

The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux in collaboration with Farsons Beverage Imports will be holding a Gastronomic Experience at the de Mondion Restaurant on Friday 15th March. In attendance Mr Jerome Abeille, owner of Chateau Mont Redon.

Medieval Puppet Show and Crafts Workshop for Children

Transporting the Silent City and its visitors back in time, the Medieval Mdina Festival on 13th and 14th April 2013 celebrates our distinctive medieval past through re-enactments, pageantry, floral displays, street markets, jousting tournaments, displays of birds of prey, as well as medieval games including medieval football and human chess challenges for everyone. The festival also features an exquisite selection of traditional medieval food and drink and Mdina's various museums, historic palaces and churches will be open throughout the two days with discounted entrance fees to all attractions in Mdina.

7 Lady Artists

To honour International Women’s Day on the 8th March, The Cathedral Chapter will be launching an all-female art exhibition at The Cathedral Museum in Palazzo de Piro.  Entitled ‘7 Lady Artists’ this collection of paintings, sculptures and ceramics by Victoria Agius, Ruth Bianco, Jeni Caruana, Zell Osborne, Elsa Romei, Dorissa Vella and Maris Zammit, will be open to the public from 17th February up till the end of March.

Malta’s carnival is one of the most celebrated events of the year and a fantastic and popular attraction for visitors. 

Full of unique character and flair, Malta’s carnival is a feast of extremes with massive colourful floats, loud music and endless dancing.  The carnival tradition is centuries-old, dating back to the arrival of the Knights of St John in 1535, although there are studies which indicate that the first carnival celebration dates back even further, to the year 1470. But, even though its exact roots may not be known for certain, carnival has completely entrenched itself in Maltese tradition over the years.

Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Foundation’s President and Board Members hold Board Meeting at Palazzo de Piro

Vatican-based Centesimus Annus Pro Pontefice Foundation held its Board Meeting in Malta this month. During their visit the President, Dr Domingo Sugranyes Bickel, and Board Members of the Foundation stayed at The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux and held their Board Meeting and Dinner at the 17th Century Palazzo de Piro, the cultural venue acquired by the Metropolitan Cathedral Chapter and restored to promote dialogue, thinking and artistic events.
