After much speculation, the wait is finally over: the first ever Michelin Guide Stars for Malta have been unveiled! We are proud to be awarded the very first Michelin Star in Malta. The de Mondion has worked incessantly in the past years and always aimed to gain this worldwide prestigious title. Our eyes were always on the prize, and this is what the team at the de Mondion Restaurant has been working on endlessly.

The de Mondion Restaurant has been widely acknowledged as one of the top restaurants on the islands and has been tirelessly improving the experience of each and every client that visit this fine dining restaurant set atop centuries old bastions in the upper floor of The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux in Mdina. The de Mondion Restaurant enjoys a beautiful view of more than half the island and dinner is served in the terrace during balmy summer nights. During colder months the de Mondion makes use of a dining room that evokes exclusivity and regality. The pink and grey decor complement the Louis XIV chairs and along with the newly redesigned lighting, the de Mondion does not only serve you dinner, but a memorable experience.

Lead by our Group Chef de Cuisine Kevin Bonello, the kitchen brigade including Clint Grech, John Agius, Jacob Busuttil, Rodrick Micallef and Michael Noblet create a gastronomical experience like no other locally. With a menu that is revamped every six months the de Mondion remains ahead of what other fine dining restaurants do locally. Restaurant Manager Zuleika Azzopardi, lead by Infinitely Xara’s Food and Beverage Manager and Assistant Managers Charlo Cachia, Chris Incorvaia and Nico Caruana respectively, maintain non-intrusive yet impeccable sterling service during our dinners.

The de Mondion Restaurant offers à la carte menu and a tasting menu on a daily basis and is open only for dinner.
